This page explains how to work with discussion.

Overview

When a subject needs to be discussed then a community member creates a new discussion in a dedicated space (see "Creating a discussion" heading. From that point any other community member can add comments (see "Adding a comment to a discussion" heading) to a discussion to:

  • clarify things
  • express his own opinion on discussed topic
  • ask a question
  • etc.

Then another community member (or even member, who created discussion in first place) can add a comment to a discussion itself (see "Adding a comment to a discussion" heading) or to a specific comment in that discussion (see "Reply to comment" heading). If JIRA issue is present in a comment text, then it's considered a best practice to also mention it under "Related Tasks" in discussion text itself (only in case, if it's really related to a discussion).
